Can I reserve / hold a book so it is waiting for me to pickup at the Public Service desk?

Answer

To have a book pulled from the regular collection and held for you at the desk, use the "Request" button on the book's record.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee when the book will be pulled from the shelves. It can be faster and easier to retrieve the book yourself if you are coming in soon. For information on how to find a book in the library, click here.

Depending on when you place your request and when someone retrieves a batch of requested items, It might take a day or two before the book is pulled and processed for pickup.

Exceptions:

  • Books in special collections
  • Items at the depository or in other storage areas
  • Journals (if you need a specific article, request it using Interlibrary Loan instead.)
  • University of Missouri Libraries, MOBIUS and ILL items from other libraries
  • Other items outside the regular circulating collections
